For this internationally operating ball bearing manufacturer, team working is one of the crucial criteria for success. p4d facilitated various workshops for SKF including preceding cultural analyses, for teams, leadership teams - nationally and internationally - in order to generate a Common Ground. These workshops enabled participants to considerably improve their cooperation.


The ‘Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit’ (GIZ, Society for International Cooperation) needed, for the purpose of innovative concepts for internal organisational development and event design, an external sparring partner to support planning and implementation of measures with a fresh view from the outside: We provided support, e.g. in process design for a multinational leadership seminar, we gave advice along the way in a cultural change project for internal organisational development and we facilitated individual internal strategy & planning workshops.

SMS Meer / SMS group

p4d supported the internationally operating machinery, plant and equipment manufacturer SMS Meer / SMS group in their strategy and change processes through process consulting, process and workshop facilitation, as well as leadership coaching. The focal points of our work included the incorporation of topics, contents and processes into organisational culture: within and across teams, on departmental and divisional levels, nationally, internationally.

Organisation and facilitation of international conferences and large group events.


This renowned charity decided to become prepared for the long term regarding the future and global trends and changes, thereby actively involving a highly committed workforce, in order to further improve their work towards the target of abolishing hunger and poverty. We provided support at process design, we gave advice to the organisation regarding action research and we facilitated the multi-day workshops for analysis, development and implementation of this project. Success: a high level of employee-involvement and activation, as well as a commonly agreed approach that motivates everybody.


The ‘Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst’ (German Academic Exchange Service) are experts in international exchange and they develop scholarship programmes at university level. As part of a strategy development project for an established programme with a focus on Africa, p4d carried out qualitative impact research on target group needs and experiences with the programme in Namibia and South Africa. The results were used as the basis for the strategy workshop facilitated by p4d. This allowed for opportunities and interferences in intercultural communication between headquarters and partner countries to be revealed and tangible results were developed for further implementation of the programme.


Virtual teamwork across international borders is daily routine for this internationally operating software company. For this to work, it is imperative that people establish a dialogue amongst each other. For the core developers of SAP AG working in various countries, p4d designed and facilitated, together with their partner podium49, an international large group event over several days for the optimization of future cooperation.

ZEF et al.

The ‘Zentrum für Entwicklungsforschung’ (Centre for Development Research), ARTS and the Food and Security Center Hohenheim were looking for a way to better prepare their international graduate students as well as future specialists and managers for work in intercultural and multinational contexts. For this purpose, p4d specifically developed a three-day training module for reflection, dialogue and awareness building. Conscious understanding of cultural levers and tools, that is the recipe of this successful series, in which for 10 years already, approximately 60 PhD students from 15 countries have been attending each year.


For the ‘Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung’ (BMZ - Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development), cooperation with civil society is a crucial task. Here it is important for BMZ to engage in talks with an extreme variety of people and organisations, to manage dialogues and to find models of cooperation. The special challenge in this case is to jointly find a better solution, despite different interests. p4d supported BMZ through preparatory analyses, workshop facilitation and active process facilitation.

City of Cologne et al.

It was the aim of the pilot project ‘Competence region Mülheim-Ost competence centre for special education’, in an urban district, to combine a wide variety of actors from municipal, school and private institutions, that often do not cooperate, in a network, and to make them work more effectively and efficiently by working together.

In a multi-year process facilitation, we supported the various stakeholders from the areas of education, health and social services in the development of constructive dialogue. Today, these organisations think and act in a much better networking way, and across their own institutional boundaries.

DJH Rheinland

The German Youth Hostel Association - Landesverband Rheinland (DJH - regional Rhineland association) wanted to adapt early on to a new development in the customer segment ‘School’ and position themselves more clearly as a ‘Partner of schools’. p4d have been supporting DJH Rhineland in this development for several years. In addition to qualitative action research, the support at internal events, the facilitation of symposia and workshops for schools, we have been providing the DJH Rhineland with our experience in project management, and we have implemented projects in everyday life.
